Egg Mouse is a fully-functional computer mouse shaped like an egg yolk, which sits on a mouse mat ‘egg white’. Designing the mouse involved rethinking a computer mouse’s clicking mechanisms and positioning of parts. Iteration development was done through sketching, CAD modelling and physical prototype tests.

The external skin is made of orange silicone. This covering was designed and produced to be strong and durable. It is seamless and hides the internal shell.

The final mouse mat is a CNC milled, sandblasted clear acrylic disc on an inset white acrylic base. The slight elevation provided by the white base gives the Egg white a stronger, more-distinct form.
